Making groups and Shannon discussion #Dec.17 2013

As I couldn't decide my essay topic clearly, it was hard for at least me to choose which group is it appropriate for me in class today. Finally I belong to the group concerning development studies and international relations. Though, it's possible to change my essay outline as I research the contents related to my topic from many points of view.
Today's Shannon discussion was not so interesting and effective because we had not so much time to think and discuss. I wanted to talk with groups about each ethical topic deeper, so today was a bit short to deepen our thoughts. In addition, I wanted time to share our ideas in whole class. Only three opinions were not sufficient for me to face such profound issues.
If we have more opportunities for discussion, I want more time talk about the topic.
And I felt that it was a bit too exaggerated to say the CWT was waste of time. If so, we do not have to do it. But we have to. I suppose this is because CWT has some significant points for us, though I'm not sure about it. So I'll research the meaning of the CWT.

Essay #Dec. 16 2013

We focused more on essay today. Before that, we talked about aiming. Personally, I have no limit: I want to go beyond as further as I can. If I have to make my goal in this term specific, I would say my goal is to improve my English especially speaking, and then get A grade.
Afterwards, we discussed essay composition. It was interesting in that I was able to notice new points about writing an essay such as police views and lawyer views.
Anyway, I want to start the winter project soon!!

Tech stuff and intro. to essay #Dec.13 2013

Rab showed us a lot of tech stuff today. Especially,  the process sheet for an essay was quite useful and valuable!! I'm somewhat relieved to finish my 1600~2000 essay throughout this term. I have to understand each tech more, though.
Also, I was little shocked to hear Rab's lecture about making an essay: group work. Of course, We've had peer reviews many times, and I'm sure to say no one make an essay by themselves throughout all processes. At the same time, I've never imagined to work our essay with group in such an early stage. To be honest, I'm a bit confused to this method, but I will try it first! Then I rethink about that.

Presentation and tech stuffs #Dec.10 2013

It was for the the first time for me to have two ARW classes in a single day! In addition, since we did sooo many things today, I feel I had the class already about five times.
The lecture about a presentation in the first half of today's class was quite useful. Though I've learned about making presentation to some extent, I was not satisfied with my skills at all in fact, so today was a good chance to get new info about presentation, and to recheck my existing skills. I hope to know more about presentation If we have time from now on.
The second half of today's class was also great: tech stuffs. I posted some comments on blogger but I didn't have any idea how to share my post with section mates. This was solved today by using feedly! It's sure to help me to check other's posts right away. I acquired new functions such as 'Undo' and 'Tasks'. While I appreciated these tech stuffs are useful enough to make our daily life easier, I felt at the same time that things now called 'old-fashioned' such as a note, a schedule book and a pencil are still important and necessary to some extent. This is because when we are in condition that there is no  electricity, we couldn't use any materials based on electronic energy. Also we wouldn't make any mistakes to send messages to wrong people if we write letters and clarify the address to which we are sending in hand, and send them through the post office. I personally realized that both digital-based stuff and old-fashioned one are important and necessary even if today is the 21th century. However, as I'm poor at digital techs, I want to learn about them more!

Today's Question
1, When I added section mates' blogger to my feebly by copying their address and pasting them on a search box, more than one results appeared in some of them. How come this occurred??
2, What is the difference between Safari, Chrome, and Firefox? I know they are all search engines but as Rab mentioned today that feebly works better in Safari and Chrome than Firefox, Do they have any specific characteristics and own strong points and weak ones? I'm glad if some of you guys answer this question.

The first class of ARW in winter #Dec.10 2013

I was stunned just after the class: the style and color of today's lecture was quite different from previous terms.
At first, I was a little bit confused but, Rab's explanation was reasonable enough for me to understand what Rab is planning to do throughout this semester. It's fun, after all!! I'm especially interested in the WOW factor because it would help me improve not only academic skills but also technological skills! As I'm not good at computer so much, it's sounds great to me. I can't wait!!
Also, it is good for me to be able to choose an essay topic as we like.

On the other hand, I have a question to Rab's view: In today's lecture, Rab told the ELA reader is not good because most of the contents in it are too old for now. It's true because info and facts are always changing especially in the field of science. Some contents in the ELA reader are kind of out of date, as Rab referred to propaganda in it. However, if most of them so, I don't understand why the editors of the reader won't revise them and change contents into newest ones. Though I don't  have much knowledge about everything appeared in the reader, I guess many issues in the ELA reader are left unchanged because they are significant to be discussed to some extent irrelevant to the date of publication.

How about you guys?? I want to get some feedbacks!
I'm happy to have a discussion from the first class!!

I'm sure to enjoy the very last term in ELA, anyway!!
